Olympic gold medallist boxer James DeGale holds altitude training camp. April 07 2015

Burtonmail is reporting that James DeGale an Olympic gold medallist recently held an altitude training camp with Perform at St George's Park in Staffordshire, United Kingdom. DeGale made use of their hypoxic chamber housed in the human performance laboratory when undertaking pad and sparring sessions.

Dr. Carl Wells, Perform's sports science lead was quoted as saying, "Frequent training exposure to simulated high altitude can help enhance the body's physical adaptations to training, benefiting the athlete's performance to a greater extent than just training at sea level alone."

Super middleweight contenders James DeGale and Andre Dirrell are slated to meet for a vacant world title on May 23 at Boston University's Agganis Arena.
